Pinot Noir is widely acclaimed with Cabernet Sauvignon as the greatest of red wine grape varieties making wines of subtlety and complexity. Most famously associated with Burgundy it has been extensively planted across many countries to various degrees of success. A difficult variety with a narrow range of climatic tolerance it is rarely seen in Western Australia outside of the Mt Barker and Porongurup sub-regions where the climate is at its coolest. This wine from Mt Barker demonstrates all the attractive aromatics and soft seductive flavours in a wine of medium body typical of the variety.

COLOUR: Ruby red with a vibrant rim.

NOSE: The nose is complex with earthy savoury characters, wonderfully deep cedar notes and winter spices.

PALATE: This Pinot has lots of vibrant fruit, particularly raspberry fruit with delicious dark chocolate characters. These rich, concentrated fruit flavours are well integrated after a period of maturation in once and twice used French oak, also adding a complexing savoury character. It has good palate weight and the dusty, lightly drying tannins contribute to its good length of flavour.
